New Delhi, Dec 28 : Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said it was the Congress which sowed the seeds of democracy in India.
“We are Congress, the party which laid the foundation of our democracy and we are proud of this legacy,” he tweeted on the party’s 137th foundation day. “Best Wishes on Congress Foundation Day.”
Congress President Sonia Gandhi earlier urged the party workers to preserve democracy and the country’s composite culture which she said was under attack from the government.
