Owner of Trimurti Fragrances Piyush Jain arrested :Police sources

Kanpur, 27 : Following recovery of huge amounts of cash and jewellery owner of Trimurti Fragrance Limited Piyush Jain was arrested from his Anandpuri residence in Juhi area here.

He was arrested late on Sunday night.The move came after over Rs 200 crore cash was recovered from Kanpur and Kannauj premises of the Itra trader by the DGGI team. His sons are still in DGGI custody.

Police sources said he will be produced in the court later in the day and a remand will be sought. A key ring containing several keys have been recovered from Jain’s possession and there is no information about the locks. Inquiry officers suspect that there is still cash and other items left to be recovered.

Sources said more than Rs 250 crore cash and jewellery has been recovered from Kanpur and Kannauj premises of Piyush Jain.

Reports received from Kannauj said the DGGI team recovered bars of 250 kilogram silver, 25 kg gold along with cash stashed in gunny bags said to be eight to nine in number from the ancestral house of Piyush Jain in Chippti locality here. Cash recovered from the basement is estimated around 103 crore. Though no official statement has been made in this regard.

The team has also recovered a few diaries and bills, mentioning sale and purchase of raw material from different companies. The team will contact these companies and verify the information provided in the diaries and bills.
