The three days festival of ‘ISTAQBAAL E CHILA E KALAAN’ concluded today in Tagore Hall.

SRINAGAR – Dec. 22.: The main purpose of this festival was to keep alive the spirit of Performing Arts in the Valley even in the severe cold season.

The unique thing about this festival is that newcomers from the field of Music, Dance and Drama had been given an opportunity and a platform to showcase their talent. Students of few colleges like, S. P. College, Women College (M. A. Road) and A. S. College participated in this festival.

Despite severe cold and mercury touching around minus 2.8 the auditorium was full of the lovers of Music and drama. The audience enjoyed the show and they were glued to their seats till the end despite severe cold.

Syed Humayun Qaisar (former Director All India Radio) was the chief Guest, while as Naseeb Singh Manhas (Director Doordarshan) was the Guest of Honour. Dr. Shahzad Aasim,  Mr. Tariq Javaid, Mr. Nisar Naseem, Mr, Shah Tariq, Prof. Ruheena Tabasum, Dr. Afroza, Dr. Shabir Ahmad Mir, Mr. Gulsahn Badrani and Mehmeet Syed were the Special Guests.

The Chief Guest and the Guests of honour who spoke on the occasion praised the Creative Director Mr. Mushtaaque Ali Ahmad Khan and his team. They said that it is very challenging to do such programmes in such a severe cold.

In the end Mr. Mushtaaque reiterated his commitment to work with full dedication for the Performing Arts and the Artists. He also expressed his gratitude to all the media houses, who support their activities continuously. He also expressed his thanks to participating Artists, to the staff of Tagore Hall, to the team of ACT. Last but not the least he said that this success would not have been possible without the overwhelming participation of the wonderful audience.
