Sensex jumps over 600 pts in early trade

Mumbai, Dec 21:  Breaking negative trend of the last two sessions, the BSE Sensex on Tuesday regained 650 points to 56,472.35 in the opening trade as buying was seen across the board amid positive global peers.

The Nifty too rose 216.25 points to 16,830.45.The Sensex registered days high and low at 56,589.95 and 56,197.08 pts respectively.

The Nifty registered days high and low at 16,839.45 and 16,722.95 pts respectively.The Mid Cap moved up by 1.22 pc and Small Cap by 1.47 pc.In 30 scrips, 28 advanced while 2 declined.

The gainers were Tata Steel by 3.56 pc to Rs 1111.20, HCL Technology by 3.22 pc to Rs 1197.25, Wipro by 2.95 pc to Rs 686, Tech Mahindra by 2.36 pc to Rs 1636.55 and Sun Pharma by 2.10 pc to Rs 779.55.

The losers were Powergrid by 0.21 pc to Rs 209.35 and Axis Bank by 0.19 pc to Rs 673.55.
