DC Kupwara Reviews progress of SANKALP

KUPWARA, DECEMBER  17: Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara, Imam Din, today convened a meeting  of concerned officers to discuss and finalize the formulation of District Skill Development Action Plan under Skill Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion (SANKALP), a programme of the Ministry of Skill Development, Government of India.

The meeting, after threadbare discussion with regard to successful implementation of the programme, signed the Expression of Interest(EOI) for hiring of consultancy, which is aimed at to institutional strengthening at the district level for planning, delivering and monitoring of skill development programme, inclusion of access for women and other disadvantaged groups, besides,  market relevance.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to extend full cooperation and support to achieve cent percent targets. He said Skill Development is the basic component which can overcome the unemployment in the district. He stressed upon the officers to ensure all methods so that Skill Development becomes easy access to every unemployed youth.  He also exhorted the youth to come forward and take advantage of the Government schemes aimed at providing employment opportunities for the unemployed youth of the district.

The Deputy Commissioner stressed to utilize the funds for accessing latest skill and job market demands/studies linking skill development activities.

The DC urged upon all concerned officers to work with coordination so that better and desirable results could be yielded at ground level.

It was given out that under the  programme  District Skill Committee was constituted and the skill profile of the district has been assessed.

During the course of the meeting,  various decisions were taken.

Among others, General Manager DIC Kupwara, Chief Medical Officer Kupwara. Chief Agriculture officer Kupwara, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Kupwara, Chief Horticulture officer Kupwara, Principal Polytechnic College Kupwara, LDM Kupwara, along with District Level Officer of other Banks, District Information Officer Kupwara AD Handicraft & Handloom Kupwara, District Social welfare Officer Kupwara, Superintendent ITI Kupwara, Handwara, Sogam & Tangdar,  Director RSETI Kupwara and other concerned attended the meeting.
