DC Anantnag reviews status of ULB works

ANANTNAG, DECEMBER 17: District Development Commissioner Anantnag Dr Piyush Singla today reviewed the progress of developmental works undertaken by Urban Local Bodies and implemented by the R & B department. Public works under various heads like IDMT, UDS, My town My Pride,14th FC  etc. were reviewed during the meeting.

At the outset, DC Anantnag sensitized the Chairmen and EOs of various Municipalities about the Clean Anantnag initiative. He said that public spaces are the face of the district and every effort must be made to keep them clean. He said that he is regularly reviewing progress under the Clean Anantnag initiative and expressed hope that all municipalities will hold cleanliness drives in their jurisdictions. He said that there is rampant defacement of public property and to bring a change, it is important to fix responsibility. Any organization involved in pasting advertisements in public spaces must be taken to task as per law.

While deliberating on the details of works under execution, the Presidents of Committees informed the chair about the progress and expected time of completion of the under execution works.

While addressing the meeting the Deputy Commissioner laid stress on the sanitation in urban areas. He lauded the municipalities for the door to door collection of garbage and directed them to focus on the IEC campaign to create awareness regarding sanitation and cleanliness among the masses.

The Deputy Commissioner taking a tough stand on delays in development works due to contractors directed SE R&B to process blacklisting of such contractors.

There was deliberation regarding installation of street lights. In particular, MC Anantnag was directed to expedite the process of installation of street lights on KP Road

The meeting was attended by Presidents of all M.C, ADC Anantnag, SE KPDCL, SE R&B , Ex En R&B Khanabal, XEN KPDCL Anantnag, CPO, AEEs, EOs and other concerned officers.

Meanwhile, under the chairmanship of DDC Anantnag, a rent assessment meeting was held here at DC office Anantnag. Eighteen (18) rent assessment cases of various departments like CAPD ,health , revenue, Animal husbandry etc utilizing private buildings were finalized while 4 cases were sent back for reassessment.

Deputy Commissioner Anantnag while assessing the cases stressed upon the officers to expedite the process of rent assessment cases to avoid litigations.

The meeting was attended by ADC Gulzar Ahmad, CMO, SE R&B, Xen R&B, Chief Animal husbandry officer, AD food, and representatives of various departments.
