Social Welfare Office Budgam holds camp for specially- abled persons

Distributes prosthetic aid among beneficiaries

BUDGAM, DECEMBER- 15: The Tehsil Social Welfare Office Beerwah today organized a daylong Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation (ALIMCO), camp for specially-abled persons at Beerwah in Budgam.

During the camp, prosthetic aid was distributed among the scores of beneficiaries.

District Social Welfare Officer, Budgam, Dr Farhana who was chief guest on the occasion said that the camp has been organized under the outreach programme  to reach specially-abled persons at their doorsteps in Tehsil Beerwah to address their genuine grievances and provide them requisite aid and equipments they require to lead a normal life.

She said these specially-abled persons are talented and have been contributing to the society at large like others.

She further added that the Government has initiated various schemes and programmes for their welfare.

On the occasion, resources persons deliberated on schemes and provided training to the beneficiaries about the functioning and use of equipment.
