SHOPIAN, DECEMBER 15:- The Indian Army has organized the Grand Chilakaaln Musical Festival in Collaboration with District Administration at the Batapora Sports Stadium Shopian aimed at promoting Kashmiri Cultural Handicraft and Cuisin.
The event was dedicated to the memory of CDS Gen. BIPIT Rawat and others who lost their lives in the accident on 8th of Dec,2021.
The event was inaugurated by Lieutenant Gen. Devendra Pratap Panday, who was chief guest in presence of GOC of Victor Force, Major General Prashant Srivastava.
Vice Chairman DDC Shopian, Irfan Manhas, ADDC Shopian Mohammad Yousuf Mir, ADC Shopian Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani, all district officers/Officials, Police and Army Officers besides a large number of local senior citizens /youngers of the district were present on the occasion.
The chief guest inspected the stalls installed by the line departments of the Civil Administration of the district . People were very glad to be here and were excited that they are able to have a good relationship with army personal.
While addressing the gathering present Lt.Gen D.P.Panday appealed to the youth to continue to strive for one educated kashmiri society and contribute in bringing about development and peace to this Jannat Of Allah.
The winds of change can be felt in south Kashmir and it was heartening to see a cultural festival organized in the heart of shopian. The youth of Kashmir are the future and they need to be nurtured into responsible citizens of the society.
Several local artists also performed musical numbers, compelling the audience to get on their feet and dance.
