Last rites of Brig LS Lidder performed; family, leaders pay emotional tributes

New Delhi, Dec 10 :The last rites of Brigadier LS Lidder, who died in the IAF chopper crash near Coonoor in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday, was performed in Delhi on Friday morning.

His wife Geetika and daughter bid an emotional farewell to the officer, breaking down into tears as they paid floral tributes at the coffin.

Tributes were also paid by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Haryana Chief Minister ML Khattar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Army Chief General MM Naravane, Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhuri, Navy Chief R Hari Kumar, several other political leaders and military officials.

Brigadier Lidder, Defence Advisor to Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, was with him in the chopper that crashed, killing the CDS, his wife Madhulika Rawat, and 10 others.
