Uttarakhand: PM Modi to kickstarts campaign for next year's Assembly polls

Dehradun, Dec 4: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Saturday address a huge rally in Dehradun and inaugurate and lay the foundation for projects worth Rs 18,000 crore in the state, thereby officially kickstarting the Bharatiya Janta Party’s (BJP) campaign for the Assembly polls to be held in February 2022.

Party spokesman have said that nearly one lakh people are expected to participate in the rally and for this, workers from every assembly constituency of Garhwal division have already been reaching Dehradun from Friday night itself. This time around the BJP has set a target of winning 70 assembly constituencies in the state, and has given the slogan ‘of crossing the number 60’. Thereby the BJP has staked the claim of forming the government in the state all by itself for the second time continuously.

If that happens it will be the first time in 21 years that the same party will come to power on its own twice in the state.

Prime Minister Modi will arrive here at the Jollygrant Airport around 12.25 pm in an Indian Air Force plane. From there around 12.30 he will board a MI-17 helicopter to go to Dehradun city and land at the helipad located in the sports complex of the Parade Ground at 12.50 pm. He will arrive at the venue at 12.55 hrs from the helipad of the sports complex. There he will inspect an exhibition between 1pm and 1.07 pm.

After this Prime Minister Modi will arrive on the stage. After this the prime minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones of various schemes between 1.30 to 1.35 pm. This will be followed by an address the gathering there between 1.35 pm and 2.15 pm.

After this he will finally he will leave for Delhi around 2.55 pm.
