BSF Jammu Frontier celebrates Raising Day, remembers fallen heroes

Jammu, Dec 1  The border guards of Jammu Frontier on Wednesday celebrated the 57th Raising Day at the Paloura-based headquarters in the city outskirts, here.

The day was also celebrated in command Battalions deployed at the International Border of Jammu and the Line of Control in Rajouri and Poonch areas.

D K Boora, IG Frontier BSF Jammu, paid tributes to the brave martyrs of BSF, who had made supreme sacrifice and laid down their lives for the nation.

On the occasion, the IG congratulated all ranks and emphasised upon them to continue achieving new heights and thwart away any attempt of enemy to disturb peace, tranquillity and social fabric of the nation.

He highlighted the achievements of Jammu frontier and interacted with the the BSF veterans, who were present in a large number on the occasion.

The veterans, who were given a rousing welcome, enjoyed themselves, dancing to patriotic tunes of the band.

During 2021, many Jammu frontier personnel were awarded for their dedication and devotion to duty such as Police Medal for Gallantry (PMG) – one, Police Antrik Suraksha Seva Padak – 2026, Utkrisht Seva Padak – 323, Ati Utkrisht Seva Padak – 163, Director’s General Commendation Role (DG’s CR) – 453, Additional Director’s General Commendation Role (ADG’s CR) – 38, DGP’s J&K Commendation Medal & Certificate- six and DGP’s J&K appreciation- seven.

During the event, a very colourful and enthralling cultural programme was presented by the BSF personnel and children of the Jammu BSF school.
