UP: A truck rammed into a police post in Jaunpur

Jaunpur, Nov 27: A speeding truck rammed into the Sarai Mohidinpur police outpost in Saraimohaddinpur under the Sarpatahan police station area on Friday after midnight, police said on Saturday.

A sweeper who was present in the outpost was killed, while a constable was seriously injured and has been admitted to the district hospital for treatment. According to the police, constable Prem Singh and Rajkumar were present at the post when the accident happened.

The incident took place at around 1:30 am in the night. According to the police, the speed of the truck was so high that the police post was completely damaged. Hearing the sound, local people reached the spot and helped in rescuing the deceased and injured people. Within a short time, CO Shahganj, Kotwal, and Sarpatahan SO also reached the spot.

The constable and the sweeper were pulled out from the rubble and were immediately sent to the hospital, where doctors declared 38-year-old sweeper Rajkumar, dead.

The truck driver also suffered serious injuries in the accident and is now getting medical treatment at the district hospital.
