Protest against PDD, Jal Shakti in Kupwara

Kupwara : Residents of Darzipora village of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday hit the streets and staged protest demonstration against the non availability of water for the last many days in the area.

Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said, scores of people including women of Darzipora area of Kupwara to register their protest against water shortage and power crisis in the area.

While raising slogans against Jal Sakti department for failed to provide them regular water supply in the area, protesting residents said department is not serious about the problems facing by the residents despite approaching them many times.

The protesting residents threatened the also PDD department to go for bigger protest if power crisis in the area will not be redressed at earliest.

However, a team of police reached the spot and assured the protestors that matter will be taken to higher authorities.

Meanwhile, officials from both departments assured this reporter that matter will be resolved as soon as possible.
