India’s COVID active cases declines to 1,18,443 lowest in 534 days

New Delhi, Nov 22 : India’s Covid-19 active cases have declined to 1,18,443, lowest in 534 days (17 months), which presently constituted at 0.34 percent lowest since March 2020, according to the Union Health Ministry’s data on Monday.

Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours the country has reported 8,488 Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours in the country, whereas 249 fatalities were recorded during the same period, taking the total tally to 46 59,11 the Ministry said.

The recovery rate touched 98. 31 per cent as 12,510 patients recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative tally of recovered patients to 3,39,34,547

“The daily positivity rate is 1.08 per cent, which is less than 2 per cent for the last 49 days, whereas the weekly positivity rate is 0.93 per cent which also remains less than 2 per cent for the last 59 days now,” the Ministry reported.

The testing capacity across the country continues to be expanded. India has so far conducted over 63.25 Crore tests across the country.

With the administration of 32,99,337 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 116.87 Crore the Ministry said.

“More than 131 crore vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through direct state procurement category.

More than 21.64 Cr balance and unutilized Covid-19 vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs,” said the Ministry.
