ETO Anantnag conducts awareness campaign against poppy cultivation

ANANTNAG NOVEMBER 19:-With a view to prevent the illicit Cultivation of Poppy/Bhung , a team of Excise officials of Excise Range Anantnag-Pulwama-Shopian -Kulgam today   carried out an awareness Campaign  in villages  Ladibal ,Veer, Srigufuwara and Krandigam of Anantnag (Areas Prone to Illicit Cultivation of Poppy/Bhung).

The drive focused on Information, Education and Communication (IEC) with the purpose to create massive awareness generation, Preventive Education and with the objective of mobilizing the Community, Promoting Awareness and Collective initiative (with the involvement of PRI’s / religious heads) towards the prevention of Illicit Cultivation of Poppy/Bhung.

These Awareness Campaigns will continue in identified Vulnerable Villages as a focused Preventive measure to curb the menace of Illicit Cultivation of Poppy/Bhung.
