Chattabal residents protest against privatization of electricity

‘We are labour class, can’t afford privatization of electricity’

 

Srinagar, Nov 16 : The residents of Chattabal Srinagar Tuesday held a protest, demanding removal of private electric cables.

Inhabitants said that they want electricity as it was earlier as they can’t afford privatization of electricity.

Talking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) the protesters said, “We hardly earn 100 to 150 per day how can we afford electricity bills after privatization.”

They further said “Only lower middle class reside in this area; the government must rethink before putting one more burden on us.”

The residents appealed Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha administration and higher authorities to look into our grievances as they are already facing hardships—(KNO)
