5 over ground workers linked to terrorists arrested from J&K’s Rajouri

Jammu, Nov 9 :Security forces have arrested five over ground workers (OGWs) for providing logistics support and facilitating the movement of a group of terrorists in Rajouri-Poonch districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Searches and raids on specific inputs are already being carried out for the last so many days to track down the group of heavily armed terrorists in the forested area of Bhata Dhurian,” police sources here said on Tuesday.


They said that as a part of this exercise, two OGWs were nabbed earlier and five more were arrested on Monday from Thannamandi area of Rajouri.
“Arrested OGWs were in touch with the terrorists engaged in gunfights on the borders of Rajouri-Poonch districts and also facilitated their movements,” sources added.
The search operation in Bhata Dhurian forested area entered the 30th day on Tuesday, which is one of the longest operations so far.
On October 11, five soldiers were killed during a fierce gun battle in Charmer forest area and on October 14, four more army personnel were killed in Bhata Dhurian taking the toll to nine.
The deceased also included two Junior Commissioned Officers.
“As per intelligence inputs, more than dozen people were involved in facilitating the movement of terrorists, who reportedly had infiltrated from the Pakistan occupied Kashmir recently,” sources added and said that the manhunt is on to trace the absconding OGWs.
