Fire in Civil Hospital in Maharashtra claims lives of 10 Covid-19 patients

Ahmednagar, Nov 6 ( UNI) Ten Covid-19 patients died and around eight patients received burn injuries in a fire that broke out in the ICU ward of Ahmednagar Civil Hospital here on Saturday.

Talking to UNI, Ahmednagar District Collector Rajendra Bhosale confirmed the death of 10 patients. Seven fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the flames.

Reports said that around 25 patients were admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital, out of which, six suffered serious burn injuries in the incident.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray ordered an enquiry into the incident.
