8 dead at Astroworld Festival in Texas: Reports

Austin, Nov 6: At least eight people lost their lives and several got injured at the Astroworld Festival in Texas on Saturday, after the crowd rushed towards the stage, causing panic.

According to Houston Fire Chief Samuel Pena, “At least eight people were confirmed dead tonight. A number of individuals were injured during this event, attended by around 50,000 people.”

Pena told the local media that the incident happened at around 0915 hrs. Astroworld Festival is a musical event held annually in Texas, organised by American rapper Travis Scott.
