Water crisis : Kupwara residents up in arms against Jal Shakti Department

Kupwara, Oct 29: The residents of Zangli area of Kupwara in north Kashmir on Friday up in arms against Jal Shakti Department for failed to provide them water.

Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said scores of women assembled near Lolab Bypass via District Police Lines and blocked Kupwara-Lolab bypass main road for hours and were protesting against the Jal shakti department.

As per the protesters they are without drinking water from last 15 days and the concerned department is watching as mute spectator.

The traffic movement in the was halted for hours, however Kupwara Police restored the road after getting the assurance from the department they also warned if their demand was not fulfilled within time they will hit the road again.
