Army, police joint security conference in Jammu

Jammu, Oct 22 (UNI) Indian Army and Jammu police on Friday held a joint security review conference at the Nagrota-based White Knight Corps here in the city outskirts a day ahead of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to the union territory.

The conference comes in the backdrop of prevailing situation across the Jammu region, particularly amid the ongoing 12-day-long gunfight between security forces and a group of heavily armed terrorists in the forests of Mendhar in Poonch.

“A security review conference was chaired by GOC White Knight Corps, Lieutenant General MV Suchindra Kumar,” said an army official.

He said that it was attended by the top brass of army, police, intelligence and other security agency officers.

Additional Director General of Police, Jammu Zone, Mukesh Singh was among those who participated in the conference.

“Coordination of security aspects was carried out in the conference,” said the officer.
