BJP pushed J&K back by decades: Mehbooba

FILE PHOTO

Srinagar, Oct 21 (UNI) Former chief minister and Peoples Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday alleged that the “BJP has brought J&K back by decades through its policies.”

Mufti took to twitter while responding to a picture showing a minor girl being frisked by a female CRPF constable in Lal Chowk area.

“Sums up the current situation in Kashmir where women & even children are suspects now. This is what BJP has brought J&K to. Their policies have taken us back by decades,” Mufti said in a tweet.

In wake of killings of civilians, security forces have stepped up patrolling and frisking in Srinagar and other parts of the valley.

From the last three days women have been being frisked by female CRPF constables in Lal Chowk and some other areas. The CRPF women can be seen checking the bags of women.

The Police have also seized hundreds of two-wheelers and kept them at various police stations in the past two days, without giving the bikers any reason.
