50 fall ill after consuming ‘Wazwan’ in Bandipora Village

Bandipora, Oct 20 : Atleast 50 people have fallen ill after consuming Wazwan at a marriage party in Lawaypora village of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Wednesday, officials said here.

Officials told News agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that the around 50 wedding guests complained of vomiting and loose—motion after they consumed the feast at the marriage party at Lawaypora.

“Hearing this incident, the district Heath authorities took immediate action and dispatched the medical teams to the area for verifying the matter, ” they said.

“However, around 40 people who have complained of vomiting, diarrhoea and dysentery were admitted so far at District Hospital Bandipora, “the officials added.

They futher said that so far, the information we are receiving seems to be due to food poisoning—(KNO)
