Hold Meeting With Leaders Of All Parties On Security, Accommodation: Div Com To DCs, SSPs

Asks Concerned To Post Migrant Employees In Safe And Secure Zones

 

Srinagar, Oct 12 (GNS): Divisional Commissioner Kashmir on Tuesday directed that all the Deputy Commissioners and SSPs to ensure one to one meeting with the representative/leaders of all the political parties within 2-3 days for the redressal of their apprehensions regarding security, accommodation etc. and consider their genuine demands.

“Further, the chair (Divisional Commissioner Kashmir ) directed that no migrant employee needs to leave the district /Valley and whosoever will be absent shall be dealt as per Service Rules,” reads minutes of a meeting on identification of government, accommodation in the Districts for protected persons and review of security arrangements, a copy of which lies with GNS.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag, Bandipora, Baramulla, Budgam, Ganderbal, Kulgam, Kupwara Pulwama, Shopian, Srinagar along with SSPs/Representatives of all Police Districts of Kashmir Valley.

“ At the outset, the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir was apprised by all the Deputy Commissioners/SSPs or their representatives, that strict vigil has been ensured and the security measures for the migrant employees , Sikhs, Kashmiri Panditis and labourers etc have been tightened, besides, concerned Deputy Commissioners/SSPs have paid and are continuously paying visits at the migrant colonies /accommodation viz, Sheikhpora Budgam, Nutnusa Kupwara, Tulmulla Ganderbal, Hall Pulwama, Maton and Vessu Anatnag etc,” minutes of meeting read, adding, “ They are being briefed about the security /confidence building measures , facilities and other arrangements being put in place by the Govt, for their safety & security. Moreover, the concerned Tehsildars , SHOs and Security Forces are also visiting the localities where non migrant Pandits and Sikhs are residing , besides, Security Forces and Police are keeping constant vigil for the security of minorities & outside labourers.”

The Divsional Commissioner directed that non migrant minority population viz, labourers, & skilled labourers etc in the district shall be identified and adequate measures of security shall be put in place for them.

Besides, he said, regular interactions be conducted with them so that any apprehension with regard to their security is taken care of. “Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, impressed upon the officers to preferably post these Migrant employees in safe and secure zones instead of far flung and vulnerable areas for the time being.” (GNS)
