Update:JCO among five soldiers killed in ongoing Poonch encounter

Poonch, Oct 11 : Five soldiers including a Junior Commissioned Officer were killed in an encounter that is going on in Chamrer forest area of Surankote area of Poonch district, official sources said Monday.

An official told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that one JCO and four soldiers sustained bullet injuries in heavy exchange of fire in Chamrer woods of Surankote.

“All the injured were evacuated to army hospital for treatment where they succumbed,” he said. It is believed thay three to four heavily armed militants are present in the area, sources said—(KNO)
