Srinagar, Sep 28 (UNI) Troops guarding the Line of Control (LoC) foiled yet another infiltration bid when they killed one militant and captured another in Uri sector in the north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday.

Four soldiers were also injured in the encounter, official sources said.

However, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 15 Crops will address a press conference in the afternoon to share details about the operation.

Official sources said that troops noticed a group of militants sneaking into this side from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) in Uri sector. When challenged on this side of the LoC by the alert Indian troops, militants resorted to indiscriminate firing with automatic weapons. The Indian troops returned fire ensuing in an encounter.

One militant was killed and another was captured, they said adding four soldiers were also injured.

This was the third infiltration bid from POK since the night of September 18-19 when two soldiers were injured and militants fled from the area.
