Murder of NC leader:Police arrest duo from Jammu

Delhi, Sep 15, KNT: Two persons from Jammu have been arrested on charges of murdering former member of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council and National Conference leader Trilochan Singh Wazir.

Wazir (67) was found dead inside an apartment in Delhi’s Basai Darapur.
Delhi police in a statement said that they arrested one Rajendra Chaudhary alias Raju, from his in-laws’ house in Jammu and later arrested another accused, identified as Billa.

Police said that two key suspects-transporter Harmeet Singh and Wazir’s friend Harpreet Singh Khalsa, who works with an online news portal are absconding.

Police said that prima facie it seems that accused wanted to kidnap TS Wazir to demand ransom of Rs 2 crore from his family.

Wazir was scheduled to leave for Canda that evening when he was allegedly murdered in the apartment.

Police said that accused murdered Wazir after they found that he had transferred all his money to his family in Canada. (KNT)
