Women Equality Day:Army organized lecture cum workshop

Lolab:August 27:  In consonance with its continuous efforts, Army Camp Gujjarpatti in collaboration with Jan Sikshan Sansthan, Kupwara organised lecture cum workshop for local women on the occassion of Women Equality Day 2021 in VTC, Chandigam, Lolab valley. This is also called gender equality day as it observes equal rights for both genders. For years, women faced stigma, stereotypes, and violence. Women Equality day calls for an equal future free of discrimination based on gender and gives them equal rights and opportunities.

The aim of conducting this lecture cum workshop was to empower women by bringing awareness amongst them about Jan Shikshan Sansthan and to give them a hope that they too can make laurels for themselves and the society. During the entire session due COVID protocols were strictly followed.

A total of 26 women and 17 men witnessed the lecture. A team from JSS, Kupwara consisting of 03 female instructors and 01 Male instructor intially congratulated every women folk on the occassion of Gender equality day and empowered women by giving a brief talk about the role of women as a mother, daughter, wife and working women in today’s society quoting some exemplary examples. Following this a workshop for the women present there was conducted by team JSS, in which they were briefed about Courses offered, grant of certificates, grant of loan to open small businesses, production faculty etc.

In the end, masks were distributed by Lolab lions to all women and men folk present there. The women folk for empowering them on this auspicious day appreciated the efforts of the Indian Army and conveyed their gratitude for the same.
