Covid-19: India reports 38,667 new cases

New Delhi, Aug 14 (UNI) India has reported 38,667 new Covid-19 cases and 478 deaths in the last 24 hours, a marginal decline in daily cases and deaths.

Today’s cases were 3.6 per cent lower than yesterday’s cases.

With the fresh cases, the cumulative tally of cases rose to 3,21,56,493 while fresh fatalities mounted the death toll to 4,30,732.

The daily test positivity rate was at 1.73 per cent, which has been less than 3 per cent for the last 19 days.

According to the Union Health Ministry, the current active caseload is 3,87,673.

The recovery rate stands at 97.45%.

On the vaccination front, nearly 63,80,937 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours.

With 20,452 fresh cases, Kerala leads the states in most Covid cases in a single day.

The state also reported 114 deaths, the most in any state after Maharashtra.
