Tokyo Olympics: India lose 2-5 to Belgium in men’s hockey semis; to play for bronze

Tokyo, Aug 3 (UNI) Indian men’s hockey went down after losing 2-5 to Belgium in the semi-finals here on Tuesday.

Despite the loss, India are still in contention for the bronze medal match.

For India, Harmanpreet scored 7′ and Mandeep Singh 8′ while for Belgium Alexander Hendrickx scored a remarkable hat-trick 19′ 49′ and 53′ Loick Lupaert 2,’ John Dohmen 60′.

India will now play for the bronze medal against the loser of the second semi-final between Australia and Germany scheduled to be played today.
