Ganderbal flashfloods:Orchards, houses, roads suffer partial damage, 30 tin sheets of police post washed away

Ganderbal, July 31, KNT: Houses, orchards, paddy fields and roads have suffered damages due to flash floods in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

Yesterday water entered into residential areas of Nunnar and Gutlibagh after power canal at Baba Wayil Padshahibagh witnessed a breach.

An official said that a team that had been in the affected areas reported that besides houses, agricultural land and roads have also suffered damages.

The official told news agency Kashmir News trust that due to heavy rainfall and flood like situation in the jurisdiction of Police Post Gutlibagh Ganderbal, 35 houses, orchards, rice fields and roads got partially damaged.

He said 30 tin sheets of police post Gutlibagh were also washed away in flash floods.

Nunnar and Gutlibagh were the two affected villages in the district.

Meanwhile, water entered in dozens of houses in Teilbal area of Hazratbal here in Srinagar outskirts. The water level in different canals and water bodies have gone up considerably. (KNT)
