Police use 40 vehicles to evacuate 430 stranded picnic goers after Aharbal encounter

Kulgam, July 27, : Over 400 picnic goers were stranded at famed Aharbal tourist spot after the encounter between militants and joint forces raged in the area.

Aharbal tourist location falls under the Jurisdiction of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

A militant on Monday was killed while police said that the operation is still in progress.

Police halted the movement of over 400 civilians after the encounter while during late hours police arranged over 40 vehicles to evacuate 430 civilians from the tourist spot.

A police official told news agency Kashmir News Trust that civilians were safely taken to an evacuation point under the armed protection of policemen and 40 vehicles were arranged for by Manzgam and Damhal Hanjipora Police Stations. (KNT)
