Year-old nomad boy drowns in stream in Shopian

Srinagar, Jul 17 (UNI) A one-year-old nomad boy drowned in a stream in south Kashmir district of Shopian on Saturday.

A toddler, identified as Aaqib, crawled out of a tent, which his nomad family had erected near Nallah Rambiara in Shopian. The boy went to the stream and by the time his family came to know about it, the toddler had drowned, they said.

Aaqib was taken out of the waterbody and rushed to a local hospital. However, he was declared brought dead at the hospital. After completing all the legal and medical formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his relatives for last rites, they added.
