Pak LeT commander among three militants killed in Pulwama Encounter IGP Kashmir

Srinagar, July 14: Top Lashkar-e-Toiba Commander Ajaz alias Abu Huraira was among three militants killed in a gunfight in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday.

Inspector General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar told that Top LeT Commander identifying him as Ajaz alias Abu Huraira of Pakistan was killed along with two local militants in Pulwama Gunfight.

Meanwhile IGP congratulated police and security forces for conducting this operation smoothly.

Earlier, a joint team of forces launched a cordon-and-search operation in Pulwama town after receiving specific input about presence of some militants in the area.

During the searches contact was established and a firefight ensued.(GNS)

Authorities impose curfew in main town as ‘precautionary measure’

‘Internet remains suspended in district’

Authorities on Wednesday imposed strict curfew in south Kashmir’s Pulwama town following a gunfight in New Colony area of the district on Wednesday۔

An official told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that curfew has been imposed in entire Pulwama town “as a precautionary measure” to avert any untoward incident.

He said that announcements were made in the town about the curfew.Pertinently, three militants including a LeT commander were killed in an encounter in New colony area of Pulwama town on Wednesday.

Internet services have been also snapped in the police district Pulwama as a precautionary measure—(KNO)
