Srinagar admin issues fresh Covid advisory to shopkeepers, business establishments

Directs to ensure entry to vaccinated people only

Srinagar, 27 June : After the State Executive committee (SEC) on Sunday issued fresh orders of restrictions for Covid containment, the district administration Srinagar Monday directed shopkeepers and business establishments to ensure that only vaccinated people are allowed entry at their outlets.

A top official of district administration Srinagar told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that in view of the directions issued by SEC yesterday, all the shopkeepers and other business establishments in the district have been asked to ensure entry of only vaccinated people at their workplaces.

“However, if there is no vaccination certificate, the particular individual wishing to go outside for shopping or wants to purchase any other commodity has to carry a valid Covid negative test report to be done 48 hours prior to entry,” the official added.

The official further said that the special inspection teams, which include magistrates and Police have been constituted and those found violating Covid guidelines will be dealt with accordingly.

Notably, deputy commissioner Srinagar, Aijaz Asad had earlier issued similar orders on June 23, stating that all unvaccinated persons visiting any shopping store/complex/ malls will have to undergo Covid-19 testing.

Meanwhile, KNO has learnt that Srinagar Administration in view of the prediction of third Covid Wave and detection of “Delta Variant” in other parts of the country, is pressing in more men and machinery to intensify vaccination for left out population in the district—(KNO)
