IGP visits family of SPO in Awantipora, terms killings as ‘cowardly act’

Srinagar, June 28 (GNS): Inspector General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar on Monday visited Hariparigam Village of Awantipora and expressed condolences with the family of SPO Fayaz Ahmad.

SPO Fayaz Ahmad, his wife Raja Begum and their daughter Rafiya(23) were killed in firing by suspected militants at their home late last night.

“Targeting family members ( wife & daughter) is a barbaric act and only cowards can do it,” the IGP said.

SSP Awantipora and other senior officers of the district accompanied the IGP during the visit.(GNS)
