We will talk about the country, not Pakistan: Farooq Abdullah

SRINAGAR | New Delhi: Farooq Abdullah, who arrived to attend PM Narendra Modi’s meeting regarding Jammu and Kashmir, has distanced himself from the statement of Gupkar alliance partner Mehbooba Mufti in talks with Pakistan. On reaching Delhi, Farooq Abdullah said about Mehbooba Mufti’s statement that we do not have to talk about Pakistan but about our country.

According to the report of Groundreport.in Abdullah said that we are concerned only with our country and we have come here to talk to his PM only. However, Farooq Abdullah refused to tell on what issue he would talk about in the PM’s meeting. Abdullah also welcomed the meeting called by PM Modi in a conversation with ‘Aaj Tak’ news channel.

Abdullah said it was like coming late, but coming right. Abdullah said that we would hope that the Prime Minister and the Home Minister would listen to us calmly and find a solution that would bring peace to the state. Not only this, he said that after the meeting with PM Modi, we will inform the media about what we have proposed and what happened. Farooq Abdullah said about the demands to PM Modi, ‘We want to have the sky, but for the time being, we will talk to him so that peace can be established in the state.’

It is important to get rid of Mehbooba Mufti’s statement on behalf of Farooq Abdullah. Gupkar Alliance meeting this week, Mehbooba had said that the central government should also talk to Pakistan on the issue of Kashmir.

Mehbooba had said, “If the government can talk to the Taliban in Afghanistan, then why can’t it talk to Pakistan on the issue of Kashmir.” His statement is being opposed in Jammu and on Thursday morning, people associated with the organization named Dogra Front took to the streets and demanded that Mehbooba Mufti be sent to jail.
