Recovery rate increases to 97%, Mortality rate comes down to 0.8% at Ganderbal: DC

GANDERBAL, JUNE 21: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna today informed that the Dialysis unit has been made functional at District Hospital (DH) and people who are in need of dialysis can avail the services.

The DC said this during a press briefing elaborating on current Covid situation in the district and mitigation efforts put in place to combat the pandemic.

Giving details, the DC said that the positivity rate has come down to 5 percent while recovery rate has increased to 97 percent besides the mortality rate is just 0.8 percent in the district. She said currently there are 55 active containment zones in the district and about 55 percent active positive population is from these zones.

The DC appealed to the people residing in these containment zones to provide full cooperation to the authorities who visit these zones for sampling and testing adding that these zones are notified for their safety.

Elaborating on the 18-44 years vaccination campaign, she maintained that vaccination is available on all 94 vaccination sites and urged upon people to get vaccinated at an earliest.

She again appealed to the people to follow the guidelines and SOPs religiously adding that joint teams have been constituted for imposition of fine against the SOP violators.
