Elderly woman dies due to drowning in Anantnag

Anantnag, Jun 19 (UNI) An elderly woman died due to drowning in a water body in this south Kashmir district on Saturday, official sources said.


A 70-year-old woman identified as Rahti Begum, a resident of Posheeri Srigufwara in this south Kashmir, drowned in a water body when she was washing her face this morning.

Later, her body was fished out from the water body, they said, adding that the actual cause of her death is being ascertained.


However, police has registered a case and initiated proceedings.
