Tral Update: Cop Injured In Firing By Suspect, No Hostage Situation, IGP

Srinagar, June 2 : Inspector General of Police Kashmir zone Vijay Kumar on Wednesday said that a policeman was injured in SOG camp Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district due to firing by a suspect who snatched weapon of a cop.

“One suspect during questioning snatched weapon of one policeman and fired upon in which one constable was injured,” the top police officer of Kashmir told GNS.

“SSP Awantipora is trying to make him surrender. No other policemen inside room and there is no hostage situation,” he said.

The injured policeman has been identified as Amjid Ahmad.
