Attempt to smuggle weapons foiled in Kupwara: Police

‘3 AK rifles, 4 pistols, ammo recovered’

Srinagar, May 29 : Jammu and Kashmir police on Saturday claimed to have foiled an attempt by militants to smuggle weapons, saying that three AK rifles, four pistols and other ammunition has been recovered at forward Jabdi in Tangdhar sector.

In a tweet, Kashmir Zone Police as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that Kupwara police along with Army in an operation at the forward Jabfi Tangdhar sector in Kupwara thwarted an attempt by militants to smuggle the weapons.

It said that three AK-47 rifles, six magazines, four pistols and nine magazines have been recovered from the spot, adding that the search operation is going on in the area.

“Kupwara Police & Army in an ops at the fowrad Jabdi Tangdhar Sector Kupwara today thwarted an attempt by #terrorists to #smuggle weapons. 03 AK-47 rifles & 06 magazines and 04 pistols & 9 magazines have been recovered from the spot.
