BDC DH Pora protests in Srinagar, alleges authorities of not allowing him to visit his area

Srinagar, May 20 : Block development council (BDC) chairperson from D H Pora block of Kulgam district on Thursday held a protest demonstration at Press colony Srinagar against authorities for not allowing him to visit his area and meet people there.

According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), BDC chairperson Sharif-ud-din Bhat said that for the last one and a half month he is not being allowed to visit his respective area as he has been “locked up” in Srinagar while funds recently allocated for the development of his respective constituencies were going lapse.

He said that the funds are about to get lapse as administration is not allowing him to visit his respective constituency.

He further said in this pandemic people are facing lot of problems and if he will not help them during this time then when will he.

He said that the same issue is being faced by several other representatives as well.

Asked about why he is not being allowed to visit his area, he said that district administration is saying that due to security reasons and COVID-19 pandemic they will not allow him to move out.

“I appeal to the administration to allow me to go to my respective area so that I can spend the funds for the development of the area,” he further said—(KNO)
