Ladakh reports 5 Covid-19 deaths, 202 new positive cases in last 24 hours

Leh, May 19: The union territory of Ladakh has reported at least 5 fresh Covid-19 related deaths including 4 in Leh and one in Kargil in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of deaths to 170 in the UT.

As per the media bulletin available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the UT of Ladakh has also reported 202 new Covid-19 positive cases including 164 from Leh and 38 from Kargil in the last 24 hours.

The bulletin reveals that the total number of COVID-19 active cases in the UT have gone up to 1583, of which 1300 are in Leh district and 283 in Kargil district.

As per the media bulletin 293 passengers were screened at KBR Airport Leh yesterday while 38 passengers including drivers and helpers of trucks and light motor vehicles were screened at Khaltse check post on Monday—(KNO)
