Team of senior officials, doctors to visit Poonch, Rajouri on 19th May

JAMMU, MAY 18: Under the direction of Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, a team consisting of senior officials and doctors will visit Poonch and Rajouri on May 19th, 2021 in order to assess the Covid containment activities there, the status of treatment for Covid positive patients and status of Covid Care Centres.

The team led by Shri Hirdesh Kumar, Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Transport Department and having senior medical personnel onboard will also assess any specific local issues in these two districts including those concerning migrating Gujjars & Bakerwals.

Pertinently, the Lt Governor had earlier directed the Health Department and other concerned administrative departments to reach out to the population living in rural & far-flung areas, besides ensuring the availability of all the requisite facilities in the Covid Care Centres, especially in these areas for better care of patients.

The Lt Governor had already passed the directions to facilitate the smooth movement of seasonal migration of Gujjar-Bakerwal community and addressing the issue of movement of trucks carrying fruits by opening of the Mughal Road.
