Congress Party High command nominated Gh.Nabi Azad head of Covid relief task force

Gh. Nabi Azad  is a dedicated politician who all his life contributed for the welfare of people

Srinagar, May 12:
Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) on Wednesday welcomed the high command’s decision to nominate veteran party leader Ghulam Nabi Azad  to head a Covid relief task force that will coordinate the party’s pandemic mitigation activities.
A statement issued by JKPCC Vice President and former MLC G N Monga said that a virtual meeting of senior party leaders was held today where all the participants welcomed the decision of AICC chief Smt Sonia Gandhi Ji to assign Azad Sahab such an important assignment in these tough times.
The leaders said Azad Sahab’s contributions as Union Health Minister during UPA-II were immense as health infrastructure across the country and in Jammu and Kashmir witnessed huge growth.
“Azad Sahab is a dedicated politician who all his life contributed for the welfare of people in whatever role he was assigned. This time also the party high command’s decision will bring a lot of relief to the common people, who are bearing the brunt of COVID19 pandemic,” they said and appealed to Congress workers to provide every possible support and help to people in these testing times.
Those who participated in the virtual meeting besides G N Monga, included Shri Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed (former J&K PCC president and ex-minister),  Shri Tara Chand (former Deputy Chief Minister), Shri G M Saroori (Vice President JKPCC and former minister), Shri Mohammad Anwar Bhat(Vice President) and Smt Khem Lata Wakhloo (former minister and senior leader)
Others who welcomed the decision of AICC chief, included, Shri Dr Manhar Lal, (ex minister), Shri Subash Gupta (ex-MLC), Shir Jehnagir Mir (ex-chairman Legislative Council), Shri Jugal Kishore (ex-minister), Shri Naresh Gupta (ex-MLC), Shri Imtiyaz Ahmad Khan (Secretary JKPCC), Shri Fayaz Ahmad Dar (district president Pulwama), Shri Zahid Hussain Jan (district president Budgam), Shri Basharat Ahmad (senior leader from Bandipora), Er Maroof (leader from Shopian), Shri Inyat-ulah Rather (ex-district president Kulgam and DDC member), Mushtaq Ahmad Bazaz (senior leader from Srinagar), Altaf Ahmad Mir (senior leader from Shangus) and other senior leaders and workers.
