Founding editor of GNS remembered on first death anniversary

DAK Presidents Visits Bereaved Family Of Tanveer-Ul-Ahad | Kashmir Despatch

Srinagar ,11 May: Colleagues and friends fondly remembered Tanveer-ul-Ahad, founding editor of Global News Service (GNS) and Daily Kashmir Glory, on his first death anniversary.

In a statement, the news agency said, “The entire team of GNS had planned a small function to pay tribute to one of the talented and bright journalist of Jammu and Kashmir who passed away at very young age on this day last year. However due to the covid-19 pandemic, the function had to be postponed and if situation so permits it would be held at later date.”

Meanwhile, the entire GNS and Kashmir Glory team held special prayers in favour of Tanveer-ul-Ahad, a truly gifted journalist who had a knack for digging extraordinary details irrespective of the situation, the statement added.

He not had oodles of journalistic brilliance but his imagination and creativity was of par excellence.

His memories of strong leadership and tremendous hard work will continue to guide us to take GNS and Kashmir Glory to heights he had visualized. We surely miss him every moment but his memories are always with us, giving us strength all along, the communique said.

“We at GNS and Kashmir Glory are overwhelmed by the tributes received on the first death anniversary of the remarkable journalist. For us sometimes it’s hard to reconcile that Tanu, as we would fondly call him, is no more with us physically but every soul is destined to meet the same fate.”

He will live in our hearts and minds forever and we look forward for your support and encouragement to live his dream of fearless and objective journalism.

Tanveer’s work will invariably remain imbued with his Arabic-origin name which means “light”. (GNS)
