Wakf Board gears up to re-open religious places | Greater Kashmir

CEO appeals people to offer prayers at home to stay healthy, limited number of Nimazis should offer prayers at Masjids

Srinagar, Apr 28 : The Wakf board on Wednesday said that the Masjids and shrines have not been closed for prayers in the Valley, but the limited number of ‘Nimazis’ should offer prayers at the religious place.

However, the board appealed to people to offer prayers at home in wake of the spurt in the COVID-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Wakf Board, Mufti Muhammad Farid-ud-din told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that there has been no order regarding the closure of the Masjids and shrines by the board. “All the religious clerics have been asked to ensure that only a limited number of Nimazis should offer prayers at the religious places,” he said.

However, I have appealed to the people to offer prayers at home to stay healthy,” he said. He also said that gathering is possible at shrines and Masjids, thus to follow the limitations of the section 144 CrPc, the people should offer prayers at home—(KNO)
