DDC Chairperson B’la Chairs Meeting of PRIs, Discusses Measures for District Development Plan Formulation

Baramulla, April 26: District Development Council Chairperson Baramulla Safina Beigh today chaired a meeting of PRIs at dak bungalow where various measures for the smooth and effective formulation and implementation of district development plan was held.

DDC Members, Additional District Development Commioner Aijaz Abdullah Saraf, Joint Director Planning, BDC chairpersons and other concerned functionaries attended the meeting.

On the occasion, a comprehensive discussion was held wherein the chairperson stressed for ensuring public participation while formulating development plans at grass root levels. She emphasized upon the PRIs to play a proactive role so that all the necessities are completed well within the stipulated time. Moreover, she directed to hold gram sabhas at ground level adding that all the stakeholders should be taken on board in the formulation of development plans.

Meanwhile, the chairperson took a brief appraisal of the implementation of various centrally sponsorsed schemes and programmes during which she exhorted to ensure that these schemes are implemented effectively at the ground level.

Earlier the ADDC Baramulla, who is the Chief Executive Officer of the council gave a detailed presentation where he highlighted various aspects associated with the district plan.
