Police arrests Woman SPO, Disengaged her service for glorifying militancy, obstructing govt officials in the discharge of their duty:

Kulgam, April 16: (GNS) Police on Friday said that it has disengaged a woman Special Operation Officer from service as well arrested her for glorifying militancy and also obstructing government official from his duty here in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

In a statement to GNS, the police said that on 14 April this month after receiving specific input regarding the presence of terrorists in Karewa Mohallah of Village Frisal, a search operation was launched there. During the course of search, the search party was obstructed by a woman identified as Saima Akther daughter of Ghulam Nabi Rah resident of Frisal.

The woman resisted the search party and turned violent, and uttered statements glorifying violent actions of terrorism. She captured a video through her personal phone and forwarded it on social media platforms with the aim of disrupting the search.

The spokesperson further stated that taking cognizance of the matter, the woman has been arrested and subsequently disengaged from service.

Regarding the incident, Case with FIR No 19/2021 U/S 353 IPC, 13 UAP Act stands registered in Police Station Yaripora and investigation of case is in progress, reads the statement.(GNS)
