Bandipora, Apr 14, KNT: Police have registered a case and started investigation after miscreants caused financial losses to the owner of a fish farm by poisoning large number of his fish in North Kashmir’s Bandipora.

Police sources told news agency KNT that Aijaz Ahmed Mir, a resident of Nakhin Chitibandy area of Bandipora had set up a fish feeding farm two years back.

They said around 20,000 fish were being presently fed in the said farm with an average weight of each fish about one kilogram.

The said owner had decided to start sale of the fish in coming days for the first time since the establishment of this fish farm, however, before creating a sale point, some unknown persons allegedly put some poisonous substance into the said fish farm resulting in the death of huge number of fish causing huge financial losses to the owner.

A police team from Police Station Aragam and officials from Fisheries Department visited the fish farm to take stock of the situation.
